Sunrise Sensations was founded in 2018 by Eric and Phil in a garage in sunny San Diego, California. What began modestly was guided by a clear vision: to reimagine the objects in our home—elevating both how they look and how they feel. From the beginning, our focus has been to design products that bring the touch of nature indoors, along with the sensations of clean air and bright sunlight.
In most homes, small appliances are made for efficiency of production—plastic forms, simplified shapes, and conventional finishes. While practical, these materials and designs rarely reflect the warmth or aesthetic we seek in our living spaces. We believed there was a more thoughtful approach. One rooted in materials drawn from nature, complemented by refined metal accents, and shaped with purpose. From those earliest prototypes, we paired this design philosophy with exceptional performance—creating wellness objects worthy of being seen, not hidden away.
Our light therapy lamps are crafted with full-spectrum LED technology to emulate the qualities of natural sunlight—replacing the clinical aesthetic of traditional devices with something far more appealing. And we’ve expanded our creations into air care—because clean air is just as essential as bright light in a healthy home. Our air purifiers integrate a two-stage carbon pre-filter with an H13 HEPA core, ensuring a cleaner, more balanced environment for the people who matter most.
Just as the love of nature shaped our design philosophy, it also informed and guided our responsibility to protect the planet we love. The wood we use is sourced from renewable, FSC-certified producers, from commercially-planted and harvested trees. We also support organizations such as One Tree Planted, contributing to reforestation efforts around the world.
Since our founding, we have based our design, engineering, and product support in San Diego, California. Our product photography was completed by humans at studios in San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco—never artificially generated—reflecting our commitment to bringing nature into homes.
